A passion for research and expertise
Industry and academic research are a necessary pairing in todays competitive global creative economy. In December of 2017, audioproducers president Paul Novotny was invited to Stockholm-Sweden to present his paper titled STEREO TO 5.1, AN IMMERSIVE FOLDOUT, an autoethnographic case-study detailing the psychological inner inspiration, production and engineering practice involved in making immersive Hi Definition sound and music in multichannel immersive surround-sound. Much of his practice was informed by 15 years of heuristic experience while re-mixing approximately 1000 TV shows and mastering music as an Apple-certified MFiT mastering engineer. Paul continues his research into The Art of Recording and Production for the 21st Century (VR and AAI) as an incoming Phd candidate at York University.
